Smoked Piña Colada

Preparation time:

Serves: 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 shot of mezcal
  • 150 ml rum (spiced rum goes great with the smoky notes of mezcal)
  • 1 whole pineapple, cut into chunks
  • 1 can coconut milk (low fat if you want it a bit lighter)
  • Juice from 2 limes
  • 4 dashes of Vera Mexicana Blackened Habanero Sauce
  • Ice cubes

Description

Mezcal adds a smoky touch to our recipe for Pina Colada. Just close your eyes, take a sip and you will almost be able to hear the waves rolling in on the beach... or maybe we'll just get caught in the rain, who knows?

Method

  1. Rinse your cocktail glasses with a shot of mezcal (save the liquid for other use).
  2. Add the remaining ingredients to a blender and blend on high for 30 seconds.
  3. Taste for more acidity, alcohol, or hot sauce.
  4. Pour into the mezcal-rinsed, ice filled cocktail glasses and garnish with a slice of pineapple. Salud!
